La Lucciola

Near the tuff town of Sorano, a small old house (38 sqm) in a Tuscan home fortress in Elmo, located on the slope of the lower slopes of Monte Amiata - the fortress was a military observation post in the Middle Ages because of the wide view over the Maremma!

The 500 year old cottage - La Lucciola - the fireflie! has been lovingly renovated, retaining its Tuscan character. A little love nest  with a living room with open fireplace and comfortable sofa, open small Tuscan kitchen, a bathroom - via a spiral staircase you have access to a lovely bedroom in the country house style.

Right next to the old wooden door through which one enters the house and living room, a small outdoor seating for eating and sitting outside, with a fireplace made of bricks, where you can enjoy a barbecue.

Trough a round arch only taking a few steps you can reach the garden with a circular pool (4.6 m diametre), which is shared with two neighbour houses, Mondo Felice and Il Paradiso

There is also a laundry room together, with washing machine and iron. The cottage is furnished in the old Tuscan style - very cozy and welcoming.

In Elmo, one kilometer away, a small grocery store, every morning there is fresh bread from the bakery, baguette (fruste) and bread, milk, ham, sausage, cheese, dishes, underwear - a real Zia Anna-store.

In the next town of Sorano, Pitigliano (12 km), Sovana all other shops, restaurants, churches, museums.

The whole area is Etruscan country with many archaeological sites, caves and ravines.
A quarter of an hour to the small river bathing site of the Fiora
half an hour to the Lago di Bolsena Bolsena (30 km), about an hour to the sea. Siena is 95 km away.
